It comes after the pair had a public falling-out last year over Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, which is estimated to add about $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.

Before their feud, Musk had spent time working in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to slash federal spending.

He left that role in May and soon targeted Trump’s legislation online, describing it as “outrageous”, “pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination.”

He lobbied for members of Congress to reject the bill and then announced plans to set up his own political party—the ‘America Party,’ which he described as centrist.

Musk also dropped a “bombshell” claim that Trump was in the Epstein files and said it was why the U.S. government had not released the documents.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk wrote at the time.

The pair continued to trade blows, with Trump labeling Musk as “crazy” and a “train wreck,” even suggesting that he could deport him back to South Africa.

Trump also claimed that Musk was mainly upset because the bill would cut electric vehicle (EV) subsidies, which could hurt Tesla.

“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,” Trump wrote in July.

Musk later deleted his Epstein tweet and apologized for some of his posts about Trump, saying they went “too far.”

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday, Trump seemed to suggest that the bromance was back on track.

“Elon’s great,” Trump replied when asked if he was back in the fold. “I say about Elon, he’s 80% super-genius and 20% he makes mistakes.

    “But he’s a good guy. He’s a well-meaning person.”

Saturday’s dinner comes after the pair had a brief meeting at the funeral of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September.

At Kirk’s public memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the president and the Tesla boss were seen sitting next to each other.

Trump and Musk could be seen talking during Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s speech, and then shaking hands before Musk got up and walked away.

The White House and Musk both shared posts about the reunion on Musk’s social media platform, X.

Musk shared an image of himself and Trump engaged in conversation, with the caption “For Charlie.”

The White House reshared the image and similarly posted a photograph of the pair, taken from behind, with the caption, “POTUS x @ElonMusk. For Charlie.”

According to lip-reader Nicola Hickling, Trump and Musk were talking about working things out.

Hickling revealed to the Daily Mail that Trump said, “How are you doing?” as he turned to greet Musk.

After Musk appeared to shrug, Trump reportedly told him, “So Elon, I’ve heard you wanted to chat.”

UFC CEO Dana White then looked to join the conversation, and Trump proposed, “Let’s try and work out how to get back on track.”

Musk at this point nodded his head, and Trump then shook his hand. According to Hickling, Trump told his old pal Musk, “I’ve missed you.”

Two dogs sniffing each others' hindquarters. Musk backed down, but realised he needs all the access to the information that the US government has on all its citizens, and Trump is stupid enough to allow him access if he licks Trump's hindquarters enough.
