The face of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk could soon appear on U.S. currency.
Turning Point USA co-founder Kirk, 31, was shot and killed while debating students at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
Suspected gunman Tyler Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder and is facing the death penalty.
- GOP lawmakers propose silver dollar coins featuring slain activist Charlie Kirk, marking him on U.S. currency in 2026.
- If passed, Kirk would be the youngest American immortalized on U.S. currency, joining presidents and founding fathers.
- The bill, introduced by Reps. Abe Hamadeh and August Pfluger, aims to honor Kirk's impact on conservative youth movements.
Two GOP representatives are now vying to have Kirk’s face imprinted on 400,000 silver dollar coins in 2026, featuring the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant.”

Rep. Abe Hamadeh and Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger will today introduce legislation to commemorate Kirk with a silver dollar coin.
The bill would need to pass through the House, under Republican control, and gain Democratic support in the Senate before becoming law.
If it does manage to pass the House and Senate to make its way onto Donald Trump’s desk for his signature, it would mark a historic moment.

“Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation’s greatest leaders and influential figures,” Pfluger said.
“This commemorative coin will make Charlie the youngest American ever immortalized on legal U.S. currency, a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic.
“Through his leadership of Turning Point USA and relentless advocacy for American values, Charlie built a movement whose torch we will proudly carry forward to defend our nation’s core principles for generations to come.”
Hamadeh described Kirk as an “American treasure” in a statement, adding, “It’s only fitting that we create a treasured commemorative coin in his honor.”

“Since 1892, Congress has authorized commemorative coins to celebrate and honor historic American patriots,” Hamadeh added.
“I have full confidence that Charlie Kirk will go down in history as one of the most influential men of our great nation’s history, liberating young minds from the pernicious hold of leftists in our academic institutions and ushering in an era of brave faithfulness and national pride.”
The coins would be considered legal tender and would have Kirk’s full name on them. They would reportedly be minted at no cost to taxpayers.
The proposal has been criticized by several figures online, including film director Morgan J. Freeman.

“The murder of Charlie Kirk is a grave tragedy and political violence is never OK but he should not be put on official US Currency,” Freeman wrote on X.
“That is abuse of power. Trump has no place on the $100 note, nor creating a $250 note for his ugly mug. This is not leadership. It’s authoritarianism.”
Republicans, including Trump, have been looking at ways to honor Kirk after his murder.
Trump confirmed he will posthumously award the slain activist the Medal of Freedom, which is the highest civilian honor in the U.S.
Last week, a resolution led by Senator Rick Scott to designate October 14, 2025, as a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk passed unanimously in the Senate.
Sixteen Republicans also sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson the day after Kirk was killed to request a statue in his honor.
