“Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes, to not only be on the opposite side of him, but to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate.”
Greene, a Republican from Georgia and once a vocal Trump ally, said on Friday that she would step down from her seat, with her last day scheduled for January 5, 2026.
Crockett has clashed with Greene in the past, with their feud gaining national attention in 2024 after a feud during a House committee hearing.
Greene told Crockett, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Crockett later challenged the committee chair, asking for clarification about the rules on personal attacks.
She asked, “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

In a detailed video posted on social media, Greene cited mounting tension with Trump as a driving factor in her decision to resign.
In her resignation statement, Greene accused Republican leaders of sidelining her and criticized her party for neglecting her legislative priorities — including bills on healthcare and immigration.
She also expressed frustration at being abandoned by Trump, whom she said turned against her after she pushed for the public release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich, powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States, whom I fought for,” Greene said in her statement.

Greene also said she did not want her supporters or her family to endure “a hurtful and hateful primary”, particularly with Trump backing a challenger.
She described facing death threats, personal attacks, and “ridiculous slander” in her resignation remarks.
“It's all so absurd and completely unserious. I refuse to be a ‘battered wife’ hoping it all goes away and gets better,” Greene said.

Her decision followed a public fallout with Trump, who had denounced her in recent weeks and announced he would back a challenger for her seat.
In response to her resignation, Trump told ABC News that he thought the news was “great for the country.”
His comments came after weeks of public tension between him and Greene, whom he had labeled as “wacky” and a “traitor.”
