Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is making headlines again after a CNN interview in which she addressed criticism over her outrage at President Donald Trump’s attacks on her.
Trump has made several Truth Social posts attacking Greene, after she strayed from her party on multiple issues in recent months.
“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump said on Saturday.
- Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly apologized for contributing to toxic politics after staying silent when Trump attacked others but spoke out when targeted herself.
- Trump withdrew his endorsement of Greene, calling her a 'traitor' and accusing her of betraying the Republican Party after she broke with party lines.
- Greene revealed she has received safety warnings from private security firms due to threats fueled by Trump's aggressive rhetoric against her.
“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” he said on Sunday.

In another post, Trump said, “Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown (Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!), betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left, performed poorly on the pathetic View, and became the RINO that we all know she always was.”
Greene wrote on X on Saturday that Trump’s posts have caused her to receive threats. “I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. The man I supported and helped get elected.”

In the viral interview clip, Greene spoke candidly about her actions and political philosophy.
During the interview on CNN’s State of the Union, host Dana Bash asked Greene why she had remained silent when Trump attacked others but only spoke out when the criticism was directed at her.
“Obviously, any threats to your safety are completely unacceptable, but we have seen these kinds of attacks or criticism from the president at other people. It’s not new,” Bash said. “And with respect, I haven’t heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.”

Greene acknowledged the question. “Dana, I think that’s fair criticism,” she said.
“And I would like to say humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics. It’s very bad for our country, and it’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated.”
The congresswoman emphasized that she is focused on her own actions.

“I’m only responsible for myself and my own words and actions. I am committed, I have been working on this a lot lately, to put down the knives in politics.
“I really just want to see people be kind to one another, and we need to figure out a new path forward that is focused on the American people,” Greene said.
On Sunday, Trump dismissed her concerns, telling reporters, “I don’t think her life is in danger … Frankly, I don’t think anybody cares about her.”
“He called me a traitor, and that is so extremely wrong, and those are the types of words used that can radicalize people against me and put my life in danger,” MTG said about Trump’s post.

One social media user wrote, “Something else is driving this humility, I don’t believe it’s genuine,” while another said they “just don’t buy it.”
“The moment they realize they’re disposable is the moment the narrative flips. The pain has to be personal to break the loyalty. Self-interest is the only ideology that truly matters to them. Incredible hypocrisy,” a netizen said.
Some users gave her the benefit of the doubt.
“To her credit, at least she acknowledges the hypocrisy of her actions and apologizes on national TV. That alone shows more courage than 95% of the Republican Party. Now, we’ll see how long this change in rhetoric lasts,” a user said.

Greene has been outspoken on a variety of issues that break from traditional Republican positions. She criticized her party’s leadership after recent Democratic election victories, blaming the losses on Republicans’ failure to deliver on campaign promises.
She also publicly confronted House Speaker Mike Johnson over the absence of a unified GOP health-care plan while the government was in shutdown.
In foreign policy, Greene has been the first Republican to describe Israel’s actions in Gaza as “genocide” and called on the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) to register as a foreign lobbyist.
Politics is no different than business.

Domestically, she pushed to release the Epstein investigative files and backed legislation to aid victims of Jeffrey Epstein, aligning with Democrats on these issues.
Despite her criticisms, Greene has maintained her loyalty to Trump while emphasizing her independence. In interviews, she said she is not a “blind slave” to the president and that her primary responsibility is to her district.
She doubled down on some of these sentiments in the CNN interview, particularly regarding Epstein, saying while she still supports Trump, she does not agree with him when it comes to keeping the Epstein files under wraps.
On Sunday, however, Trump said House Republicans should support a bipartisan petition that would force their release.
