Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden after he repeated claims that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump.
Attorneys acting on behalf of the first lady threatened to sue Biden for $1 billion if he does not retract the claim and issue an apology.
Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, made the comments during a YouTube interview on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan.

In the letter sent to Biden and his legal counsel, Alejandro Brito described the claim as “false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory.”
Biden and Callaghan had discussed Melania, who married Trump in 2005, during the interview.
“Epstein introduced Melania to Trump,” Biden said. “The connections are, like, so wide and deep.”
“Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania, and that’s how Melania, and the first lady and the president met,” Biden added. “Yeah, according to Michael Wolff.”
Melania’s legal notice also notes that the claims were partially attributed to critical Trump biographer Michael Wolff.

The Daily Beast had published an article based on claims made by Wolff that Melania was introduced to her now husband via a modeling agent connected to Epstein.
It later retracted the story and issued an apology after Melania’s legal team challenged the headline and framing of the article.
“These false, disparaging, defamatory, and inflammatory statements are extremely salacious and have been widely disseminated throughout various digital mediums,” Brito wrote to Biden.
“Indeed, the video has since been re-published by various media outlets, journalists, and political commentators with millions of social media followers that have disseminated the false and defamatory statements therein to tens of millions of people worldwide.”
Brito added that failure to comply with the notice would leave Melania with “no choice” but to pursue all legal rights and remedies to “recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused her to suffer.”

The letter further stated that if Biden did not comply by August 7, he would face legal action for over $1 billion in damages.
According to Fox News, Biden had not complied with the notice as of that date.
Brito also accused Biden of publishing “false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention” to himself, and claimed he had a history of “trading on the names of others.”
Biden has not publicly commented on the legal notice.
Harper’s Bazaar published a profile on Melania in 2016 and reported that she met Trump at a Fashion Week party hosted by Paolo Zampolli in November 1998.
She told the outlet that he was recently divorced and wanted her number, but she refused to give it to him because he was with a date.

Instead, she asked for his and said he gave her all of his contact numbers, asking her to call him.
The claim regarding Epstein introducing the couple is not the only one to circulate about the disgraced financier, who died in prison while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
In June, audio resurfaced, reportedly from Wolff’s interviews with Epstein in 2017, that claimed Trump first slept with Melania aboard the ‘Lolita Express’— the convicted pedophile’s private jet.
Wolff shared parts of the recordings with The Daily Beast and claimed he has around 100 hours of audio with Epstein.
While speaking about Trump and Melania, Epstein said, “The first time he slept with her was on my plane.”

The private jet, a Boeing 727, was reportedly used to fly young women between Epstein’s homes in New York and Florida.
The Trump administration has been grappling to contain the fallout over Epstein after the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo concluding there was no client list.
They further said that Epstein died by suicide in jail in 2019, and they would not be releasing any further documentation.
It sparked mass anger among Trump’s MAGA fan base, and reports later alleged that Attorney General Pam Bondi had informed Trump that his name appeared in Epstein-related files several times.
There is no suggestion that appearing in those files is a sign of wrongdoing.
