The decorations feature 51 trees in total and a return of the crimson red used in Trump’s 2018 Christmas, which was famously compared to dystopian novels.
Decorations include Lego portraits of Presidents Donald Trump and George Washington in the Green Room.

In addition, 25,000 feet of ribbons adorned the White House with 3D-printed ornaments on the Christmas tree in the Blue Room, and 75 of “Mrs. Trump’s Signature Wreaths.”
In addition, 10,000 butterflies fill the halls of the White House’s Red Room.

The Office of the First Lady described the chosen colors of red, white, and blue as patriotic exhibits to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the U.S.
The display arrives after a brief but closely watched moment last week, when Melania spent less than three minutes greeting the horse-drawn carriage that delivered the official White House Christmas tree.

She walked around the wagon, looked over the concolor fir from Michigan, and called it “beautiful” before quickly returning indoors.
The brevity of her appearance revived earlier criticism surrounding her holiday responsibilities.
In 2020, leaked audio captured her frustration as she worked on 2018 seasonal preparations during her husband’s first term.
Yet another moment that should’ve ended any kind of love that MAGA had for Melania Trump. But they don’t care. And that’s because it’s a cult. Imagine for a moment Michelle Obama had been caught on tape saying she hated decorating for Christmas. pic.twitter.com/K73OobViqW

“I’m working… my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f**ck about the Christmas stuff and decorations?” she was heard saying in the audio.
“But I need to do it, right?” “OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f*****g break,” she added.

She was referring to a controversial family separation policy that separated migrant children from their parents.
With the East Wing demolished to make way for a 90,000-square-foot ballroom, the tour route is half its usual length, and the first lady’s staff has been working out of ground-floor rooms, limiting the area for decorations.

The tour begins in the East Room, where the ‘America250’ theme marks the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. A spokesperson for America250 said the group was “deeply honored” to be included in this year’s display.
Then, the route leads into the Green Room, featuring the Lego portraits along with retro toys decorating the surrounding tables.

The Blue Room holds the 18-foot Christmas tree, which was dedicated to Gold Star families. It holds glowing white 3D-printed ornaments representing each state and territory, along with their official birds and flowers.
The first lady’s office said artificial intelligence helped produce the designs. The 3D prints are complemented with navy ornaments and ribbon.

The Red Room houses 10,000 vibrant blue butterflies, placed around the tree, mantles, and furniture. It also features ornaments saying in red and blue “Be Best,” promoting Trump’s initiative.
The campaign, started in 2018, focuses on youth well-being and combating cyberbullying.

The State Dining Room houses the annual White House Gingerbread House, which weighs more than 200 pounds this year. A spokesperson confirmed to USA Today that the structure is edible but warned visitors, “You cannot take a piece with you.” It is accompanied by three burgundy-filled trees.
In the Grand Foyer, three small bouquets sit on the table beneath a painting depicting Donald Trump moments after his 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Visitors on Monday heard the U.S. Marine Band perform Christmas music, including selections from ‘The Nutcracker.’
Reaction online quickly contrasted Trump’s traditional approach with last year’s circus-themed decorations from former First Lady Jill Biden.

Many noted the sparse and less extravagant nature of the decorations, as compared to the first lady’s decorations during Donald Trump’s first term. For her part, the first lady’s office said the theme is intended to remind visitors that “the heart of America is strong and that Home Is Where The Heart Is.”
