A police sergeant present at the scene told WCPO that one person had been taken into custody, which was later confirmed by the Secret Service in a statement.
However, details on the allegations that person is facing or if they have been charged are not clear.
In a statement to CNN, Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said that an adult male was detained “for causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of a personal residence associated with” the vice president.
“The U.S. Secret Service is coordinating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office as charging decisions are reviewed,” Guglielmi added.

The Associated Pressreported that shortly after midnight, Secret Service agents responding to a loud noise at the residence discovered a man who had smashed a window with a hammer and was attempting to enter the home.
The account came from two law enforcement officials who spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the ongoing investigation.
One of the officials added that the suspect had also damaged a Secret Service vehicle while driving up the home’s driveway.
A Cincinnati police dispatcher told FOX19 NOW that the Secret Service called for police at 12:15 a.m. after seeing someone “running eastbound.”
Video footage reported by WLWT shows damaged windows at the home as authorities walk the property with torches to assess the damage.
The Secret Service confirmed that Vance and his family were not present at the time of the incident, with his office telling AP that the family was in Washington.
A federal law enforcement official told CNN that authorities are now investigating whether the man was targeting Vance or his family. It is believed that the suspect did not make it inside Vance’s home.
