Eagle-eyed social media users spotted something odd on Donald Trump’s desk in the Oval Office.

Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin shared images of himself and the president “working” at the White House over the weekend, despite the fact that Trump was actually in Mar-a-Lago and not Washington.

However, that detail wasn’t the only one to catch the attention of users on X, who quickly pointed out several things on Trump’s desk.

Highlights
  • Senator Markwayne Mullin posted photos implying he worked with Trump in the Oval Office over the weekend, though Trump was at Mar-a-Lago.
  • Users on X noticed printed Truth Social posts scattered on Trump's desk instead of typical presidential briefings.
  • The printouts sparked ridicule, with comments mocking the idea of using old social media posts as official work.

One of those things included numerous printouts of Trump’s posts from Truth Social.

“Are those tweets printed out as PowerPoint slides?” one person wrote.

Another added: “Presidents used to read highly researched and detailed briefings. Now they just hand Donny his old tweets and tell him how good of a job he did on it. This is pathetic.”

“It would appear he signs them as some form of swag gear souvenir for the sycophants visiting the oval. The grift never ends,” a third posted.

One user questioned why those printouts were there, writing: “What’s with all the truth social printouts on his desk,” accompanied by laughing emojis.

“Look at all this important work! Printed posts from his TemuSocial,” another post read.

Mullin’s post, made on Saturday, read, “Working through the weekend with President Donald J. Trump. It’s always an honor to be in the Oval Office—I never take this opportunity to serve Oklahoma for granted.”

Trump left the White House on Friday evening to go to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and did not return until Sunday evening.

While Mullin implied he was working with Trump on Saturday, it’s not clear if he met with the president on Friday or if the photos are from an old meeting.

But the senator was slammed for the misleading post, with users mocking him in the comment section and the drama even making its way to Bluesky.

‘This is pathetic,’ a social media user said

“Trump is at Mar-a-Lago golfing and partying with the president of Argentina — the same leader to whom he just handed $40 billion in U.S. taxpayer money,” MediasTouch responded.

“You must really hate your followers to lie to them like this.”

Another questioned, “Gosh, I always thought the weekend was Sat and Sunday,. But Trump is in Mar-A-Lago this weekend. So you certainly aren’t working with him this weekend.”

And the Truth Social printouts weren’t the only items on Trump’s desk to garner attention.

A bowl of Halloween candy and the fact that there was a drink sitting on the desk without a coaster also sparked comments mocking Trump.
