U.S. President Donald Trump insisted on Sunday night that the Republican Party remains strongly unified, even as he publicly insulted several GOP lawmakers who have split with him in recent weeks.

His new comments came in a lengthy Truth Social post in which he praised the strength of the party while singling out Sen. Rand Paul, Rep. Thomas Massie, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Highlights

“The Republican Party has never been so UNITED AS IT iS RIGHT NOW!” he wrote on Truth Social.

“Other than Rand Paul, Rand Paul Jr.(Massie!), Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown, and a couple of other ‘lowlifes,’ and other than the fact that many want the Election threatening Filibuster TERMINATED (the Dems will do it in the first minute of their first chance!)” he continued.

“The Republican Party is MUCH BIGGER than it was when I announced in 2015,” Trump said, before adding, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME! VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!”

The post landed only two days after Greene announced her resignation from Congress.

The Georgia Republican once stood among Trump’s strongest allies, but following her recent criticism of the administration’s handling of the Epstein files, health care funding, foreign policy, and most recently, the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, she had a falling-out with Trump.

Massie, who joined Greene in pushing for the publication of federal Epstein files, expressed sadness over her exit.

“She embodies what a true Representative should be. Everyone should read her statement; there’s more honesty expressed in these four pages than most politicians will speak in a lifetime,” Massie said.

“Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both political parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more,” Greene wrote in her resignation statement.

“And the results are always the same … nothing ever gets better for the common American man or woman.”

Trump made the statement two days after Greene resigned over her falling-out with him

“Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States, whom I fought for,” Greene said, referring to her battle with the Trump administration to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Earlier on Sunday, Paul criticized Trump’s language towards representatives he does not agree with. He commented on Trump calling to “hang” six Democrats who asked U.S. service members to refuse unlawful orders in a video message and labeling it, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

“If you take at face value the idea that calling your opponents traitors and then specifically saying that it warrants the death penalty is reckless, inappropriate, irresponsible,” Paul told CBS’s Face the Nation. “It’s not something that is helping the country heal wounds. I think it stirs things up, and really, I think we can do better.”

The senator has voted against major items on Trump’s legislative agenda, criticizing tariffs and opposing the administration’s signature tax bill.

Greene has also spoken about the dangers of Trump’s language.

Trump dubbed her a “traitor,” and “disgrace,” along with saying she “betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left, performed poorly on the pathetic View, and became the RINO that we all know she always was.”

He has also mockingly called Greene “brown” because “green grass turns brown when it begins to rot.”

Greene said she faced security threats after Trump’s criticism of her.

“Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type rhetoric being directed at me right now,” Greene wrote on X last week. “This time by the President of the United States.”

Trump happily accepted Greene’s resignation from Congress, calling it “great news for the country.”
