President Donald Trump has been swept up in the storm surrounding the Epstein files and recent Republican election losses—and he is not handling it well.

Last week, the president fired off a string of angry, late-night posts about former President Barack Obama

Trump’s increasingly hostileattacks have grown sharper since Republicans suffered setbacks in this month’s off-year elections.

Highlights
  • President Trump fired a series of angry, racist posts targeting Barack Obama amid GOP election setbacks and Epstein file pressures.
  • Trump revived his false birther claim, insisting Obama wasn't born in the U.S., despite Obama's publicly issued Hawaiian birth certificate.
  • Trump reshared a meme blaming the Obamas for worsening racial tensions, claiming racism was “almost dead” before their spotlight.

By sunrise on Tuesday, Trump had filled his social media feed with conspiracy theories, altered images, and racially charged memes about Obama.

Trump revived his false “birther” claim, insisting again that Obama was not born in the United States. Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate, issued in 1961, publicly confirms he was born in Honolulu.

Trump had pushed the conspiracy for years before acknowledging its falsehood near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.

In one post, Trump shared an image of Obama from his 2013 inauguration with a caption declaring that he “betrayed a country he wasn’t born in.”

The original post also claimed Obama used a “different name,” even though Obama has always used his legal name publicly and on all official documents.

The original post was captioned, “Nothing about this asshole was ever real. I want every mention of him being president to have to feature an asterix leading to a footnote which says ‘contended’ or ‘awaiting legal verification’ or something.”

“Trump is in his feefees because he’s so unpopular right now and he’ll never be as successful as, never mind more successful than, Obama – which is all he’s wanted for the past 20 years or so.  Poor baby,” a Truth Social user said in the comments.

Ironically, it is Trump himself whose family comes from Germany. His grandfather immigrated to the U.S. and changed their surname from Drumpf to Trump to fit in among the English names.

Another post drew even more outrage. Trump re-shared a meme based on the 1974 comedy Blazing Saddles, which blamed Barack and Michelle Obama for worsening racial tensions in the U.S.

The meme suggested racism was “almost dead” before the Obamas entered the national spotlight and “set America back 100 years.”

One repost claimed racism was ‘almost dead’ before Obama

“The only thing the Obamas did was to unify EVERY racist in America. They saw an educated and well respected African American becoming POTUS as the beginning of the end so they form the tea party. trump played on that hate & racism towards the Obama’s with his birther & Muslim bs,” an X user said, attaching a meme of Trump that read, “The most dangerous thing in the world is an imbecile who thinks he’s a genius.”

“GET THIS CRAZY MF OUT OF OUR WHITE HOUSE NOW!!!!!!!!!!” another user said on Threads.

Trump also shared a post containing an image that said, “If President Trump can be IMPEACHED and INDICTED for the fake Russian Collision story, then Barack Obama should GO TO PRISON for creating it.”

Text claims Trump impeachment over Russian story, saying Obama should be imprisoned; shows serious portraits of Trump and Obama.

In 2017, the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation was conducted into Trump regarding Russian interference in the 2016 United States election. Trump had claimed that he had been wiretapped by the Obama administration.

In July this year, the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, declassified 2016 documents relating to the probe into Russian interference. She alleged that the documents proved that the Obama administration had “manufactured and politicized intelligence.”

Following the statement, Trump shared a fake AI video of Obama being arrested by the FBI and sitting in a prison cell.

Obama hit back, calling the claims an attempt at distraction as Trump continued to grapple with calls to release the so-called Epstein files.

“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes,” Obama’s office said in a statement.

“These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”

Trump’s hostility toward Obama has been building for months. Last summer, he shared a meme that depicted Obama as OJ Simpson fleeing the police, but in this post, the police were Trump and an overweight Vice President JD Vance

Last year, Trump shared a meme depicting Obama fleeing from ‘police officers’ Trump and Vance

With dementia you often get a condition called "sundowning." It is defined by the Mayo Clinic -> "The term "sundowning" refers to a state of confusion that occurs in the late afternoon and lasts into the night. Sundowning can cause various behaviors, such as confusion, anxiety, aggression or ignoring directions. Sundowning also can lead to pacing or wandering. Sundowning isn't a disease. It's a group of symptoms that occurs at a specific time of the day. These symptoms may affect people with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. The exact cause of sundowning is not known."
