We can now definitely say that Bad Bunny has become one of the most hated artists among the Trump administration and his MAGA crowd.

But it turns out that in private, these supposed haters all groove to the Puerto Rican musician all the same.

And it looks like his detested Super Bowl LX halftime performance was played on big screens at Trump’s golf club in Florida.

Highlights
  • Despite public MAGA criticism, Trump’s golf club played Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show on big screens during a party hosted by the U.S. president.
  • Bad Bunny made history with the first all-Spanish Super Bowl halftime performance viewed by an estimated 135,000,000 people.
  • Bad Bunny criticized ICE and Trump, even canceling U.S. tour dates partly from fear of immigration raids.
  • Conservative group Turning Point USA held an alternative halftime show featuring Kid Rock to counter Bad Bunny’s performance.

“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, as Bad Bunny headlined the halftime show.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, sang in Spanish throughout his entire performance.

The superstar has been a vocal critic of Trump, and canceled dates for his U.S. tour, partly due to fears of ICE raids.

In an interview with i-D Magazine, he said he and his team worried immigration agents might target his shows. In response, Trump’s adviser Corey Lewandowski said Immigration and Customs Enforcement would be present at the game.

The NFL later confirmed that ICE would not conduct any raids during the game.

The six-time Grammy winner said earlier this year, while accepting two Grammys, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ICE out.”

He said during the NFL game, “God Bless America,” before naming other countries that make up the Americas, including “Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil,” along with “United States, and Canada.”

Bad Bunny then lifted a football that read, “Together, we are America.”

Trump supporters have repeatedly said Bad Bunny is not American, with boxer and influencer Jake Paul even calling him a “fake American citizen,” even though Puerto Rico is a territory of the U.S.

Trump, meanwhile, wrote, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”

“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day—including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.”

As the NFL’s Super Bowl LX kicked off, conservative group Turning Point USA staged its own counter-programming event. Dubbed the All-American Halftime Show, the alternative broadcast, headlined by MAGA-aligned rocker Kid Rock alongside country artists, aired simultaneously with the official halftime performance in a bid to offer a patriotic alternative for critics of the NFL’s Bad Bunny headliner.

Kid Rock performed his 1999 song ‘Bawitdaba’ for fans. However, many were left wondering whether he was lip-syncing.

A video shared by PatriotTakes on X shows Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show playing on a number of large screens at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The video has since gone viral and shows Trump sitting at a table with Senator Lindsey Graham.

The 2026 Super Bowl halftime show drew an estimated 135.4 million viewers, according to preliminary reports. Last year, the show drew a record-breaking 133.5 million viewers.

The Super Bowl was opened by Green Day, who performed ‘American Idiot’ but did not sing an altered line in the song that criticizes Trump and his base.

The band sang a medley of some of their most popular hits, but skipped “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda,” a line that was recently changed to “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda.”

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong said at a Super Bowl preparty, “This goes out to all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are. Quit that s****y job you have.

“Because when this is over, and it will be over at some point in time, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad f*****g habit. Come on this side of the line.”
