Donald Trump has backed an ICE agent who shot and killed an unarmed U.S. citizen, lobbing an insult at the victim on social media.
Renee Nicole Good, 37, was killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent on Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis.
- Donald Trump defended an ICE agent who fatally shot unarmed U.S. citizen Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, calling the victim disorderly and a 'professional agitator.'
- Video footage shows Good attempting to drive away while ICE agents fired multiple shots into her vehicle.
- Local officials, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz, rejected Homeland Security's narrative as propaganda and demanded accountability.
Good, a mother of three, was in her vehicle and was attempting to drive away from the scene when she was shot, leading to the car rolling down the street and crashing into parked vehicles.

The incident came as demonstrators had been protesting ICE enforcement action in the city.
Video footage of the incident shows Good inside her car blocking the road when a federal agent approaches and tells her to exit the vehicle.
Good is seen to reverse in the footage, widely shared online by witnesses, while one ICE agent stands on the left side of the vehicle attempting to open the door.

Donald Trump’s social media post concerning the fatal shooting of a US citizen in Minneapolis is full of blatant lies.

Another agent can be seen walking near the front of the car before firing what appeared to be three shots at Good as she attempted to drive away on the icy road.
The incident was filmed from different angles, one of which shows Good attempting to maneuver around a parked car, with her vehicle appearing to drive towards the right.
The agent, near the front left of the vehicle, is then seen firing a shot through the windshield of the car as it moves forward, and bystanders can be heard screaming.

That man was then seen in the footage moving out of the way, to the driver’s side of the car, and firing what sounded like two more shots through the side window.
Witnesses and local authorities said that Good posed no threat to the federal agent.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told reporters that the ICE agent feared for his life and was acting in self-defense.

Trump also echoed that claim on Truth Social, writing, “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”
Sharing a snippet of the footage, some of which lasts over four minutes, he added, “Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital.”
“We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!” he added.

At a press conference, Noem claimed the alleged car ramming was an act of “domestic terrorism” and said the officer involved had been injured during a similar incident in June.
Noem said that Good had “weaponized” her vehicle and that she “attempted to run a law enforcement officer over” in an apparent “attempt to kill or cause bodily harm.”
“The ICE officer, fearing for his life and the other officers around him, and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training to save his own life and that of his colleagues.”

Those claims have been rejected by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who called them “bulls**t” at a press conference.
“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bulls**t,” he said.
“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed,” Frey added.
Speaking directly to ICE, he said, “Get the f**k out of Minneapolis.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also described Homeland Security’s account of the incident as propaganda in a statement.
Human rights organizations have condemned the incident
Jacob Frey, after ICE murdered a woman in Minnesota today: “I have a message for ICE — get the fuck out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here. People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. And now somebody is dead. That’s on you. It’s also on you to leave.” pic.twitter.com/KbMvsCPK4Y

“I’ve seen the video. Don’t believe this propaganda machine,” he said.
“The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.”
The incident has also been strongly condemned by human rights organization Amnesty International, which said unnecessary lethal force had been used.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the shooting and killing of a woman in Minneapolis by a federal agent during immigration enforcement operations,” it said.

“The Trump administration has taken the life of yet another person through the unnecessary use of lethal force—driven by its cruel, anti-immigrant agenda—and again blatantly lied about the circumstances.
“The growing presence of ICE, along with militarized crackdowns on protests we have witnessed in recent months, has violated the right to freedom of expression and made our communities unsafe, harming all of us.
“This killing, as well as all ICE-related custodial deaths, must be thoroughly investigated and those responsible for abuses held accountable.”
