Even amid a flood of fresh headlines, the internet continues to resurface past moments to make U.S. President Donald Trump the punchline.
A 2017 clip has been making the rounds, showing Trump being snubbed during a diplomatic meeting in Poland.
The clip comes from a visit to Warsaw during Trump’s first term as U.S. president, when he attended the Three Seas Initiative summit and met with the then-Polish President Andrzej Duda.

During a public photo opportunity, the two couples stood together on stage as the leaders exchanged greetings.
Video footage shows Trump and Duda shaking hands before turning toward each other’s spouses. Trump then appeared to extend his hand toward Kornhauser-Duda.
She swiftly moved past him and greeted Melania Trump, and the video zoomed in on Trump’s face as he withdrew his stretched hand.

While Kornhauser-Duda turned back and shook Trump’s hand, the moment made headlines in international media.
The clip began circulating again on social media platforms such as X and Threads in early 2025. This time, users focused closely on Trump’s reaction, in particular, his facial expression as the interaction unfolded.

Netizens also pulled out another 2017 image, this time from the G20 summit held in Hamburg, Germany.
In the image, Trump is sitting, eyes closed and alone, at a table next to two empty chairs at the 2017 Group of 20 forum, while other attendees are seen conversing around him in the background.

Threads users trolled the president, with people saying, “He deserves to be alienated,” “He’s a global bully and should be ignored,” “It’s lonely at the bottom,” and “This makes my heart sing. I hope he is miserable for the rest of his (hopefully) short life.”

Trump was recently heavily trolled at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, especially for not being greeted on the red carpet.
“Trump arrived in Davos for the WEF conference and he brought his own red carpet. Nobody greeted him as well while he for some reason was walking sideways on it,” said an X user.
There were conflicting reports about whether Trump, 79, brought his own carpet, but many mocked him for walking alone, seemingly hobbled.
