It’s safe to say that U.S. President Donald Trump became the talk of the town during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

At times, it was because he repeatedly mistook Iceland for Greenland, or perhaps because he failed to pronounce Azerbaijan.

He once again lobbied for the ownership of Greenland after he spoke about how European leaders were going down the wrong path, and kept calling the Danish territory “a piece of ice.”

Highlights
  • At Davos, Trump repeatedly confused Iceland with Greenland and mispronounced Azerbaijan, sparking ridicule among attendees.
  • A viral photo showing Trump with a 'deer in the headlights' expression fueled speculation about his health and cognitive state.
  • Trump's bruised hand, linked to chronic venous insufficiency and high aspirin use, revived rumors about possible dementia medication.
  • Trump posted an AI image claiming Greenland as a U.S. territory by 2026, provoking widespread mockery and online backlash.

But it was one image that really led to him being savagely trolled

An image of Trump taken at the event is making the rounds online, and people cannot stop trying to decipher why he looks so off.

“WOW, this photo is really something,” said an X user, sharing the picture taken by Laurent Gillieron.

“I see fear, uncertainty, insecurity, confusion, poor posture…and dementia,” replied one user.

Another person called his look “like a deer in the headlights.” The term is often used to describe how people with dementia can become glazed or unresponsive due to confusion.

And people really pointed out the confusion. “Is this real? ‘Cause that dude has no idea where he is and maybe who he is. I have seen that look in memory care centers,” asked one person.

One netizen likened the photo to “When your toddler ‘hides’ in the corner to shit their diaper.”

Another commenter called him “something RFK Jr would eat,” while a user said his expression reminded them of the time “at [their] mom’s door at 3am after [they] threw up.”

Someone even went as far as to say Trump looks the most iconic antagonist from Scooby-Doo, Mr. Carswell, aka ‘Creeper.’

Many X users commented about Trump’s lost and confused look

As concerns about his health and rumored dementia have reached an all-time high, Trump was once again photographed with a bruise on his hand.

Concerns mounted throughout last year after Trump’s right hand was repeatedly photographed with dark purple bruises, sometimes covered with makeup or band-aids.

The White House initially brushed off concerns, attributing the bruising to Trump shaking many hands, but later disclosed he has chronic venous insufficiency—a common condition in which leg veins struggle to return blood to the heart, causing pooling and swelling.

Trump said his hands bruise because he takes high doses of aspirin. But many have speculated that the bruising is owing to a medication taken for Alzheimer’s disease.

This time around, the bruise was captured on his left hand. “They moved the IV for his treatment,” quickly claimed one user on X.

Many users repeated this theory. “They can’t keep putting the IV in same place. If he’s got high BP and taking blood thinners his veins are bursting when given IV. They have to go to less used spot,” said another user, adding they speak from experience.

“I clipped it on the table,” Trump said when asked about it aboard Air Force One.

Trump is also receiving flak for another image that he posted himself: an AI image of him planting the American flag on Greenland, along with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The image shared on Truth Social on Tuesday consists of a sign declaring Greenland a “US territory est. 2026.”

One tweet wrapping up the discourse on this image reads, “It was the darkest of times, it was the dumbest of times.”

Along with the image, Trump also shared private messages sent to him by French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

“Mr President, dear Donald — what you accomplished in Syria today is incredible,” Rutte gushed in a screenshot shared by Trump. “I will use my media engagements in Davos to highlight your work there, in Gaza, and in Ukraine. I am committed to finding a way forward on Greenland. Can’t wait to see you. Yours, Mark.”

In another screenshot, Macron says, “My friend, We are totally in line on Syria. We can do great things on Iran. I do not understand what you are doing on Greenland,” before adding, “Let us try to build great things.”

Macron then suggested setting up a G7 meeting in Paris, with “the Ukrainians, the Danes, the Syrians and the Russians.” He also invited Trump for a dinner “together” in Paris.
