President Donald Trump’s new artificial intelligence tool on Truth Social is fact-checking him, and it is not holding back.
A recent analysis by The Bulwark found that Truth Social’s Truth Search AI Beta, powered by the Perplexity platform, has been providing answers that directly contradict several of Trump’s repeated political claims.
- Truth Social’s AI tool fact-checks and contradicts many of Trump's repeated political claims using evidence-based responses.
- The AI states the 2020 election was not stolen and labels Trump's claims of a rigged election as lies.
- Contradicting Trump, the AI confirms grocery prices have not decreased and tariffs have cost Americans money.
- Despite Trump’s repeated claims, the AI finds no evidence he single-handedly stopped the India-Pakistan conflict.
The AI addition provides “woke” responses on issues like the 2020 election, tariffs, and January 6.

The AI tool, in beta testing since August, appears to give straightforward, evidence-based responses.
BP Daily asked the program about Trump’s controversial and highly disputed claims.
“Was the 2020 election stolen from Donald Trump?” we asked the Truth Social AI tool. Trump has repeatedly claimed the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen,” despite dozens of Justice Department findings and state audits showing no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

“No,” it responded. “Dozens of court cases, bipartisan state certifications, recounts/audits.”
The Daily Beast asked a question that follows up on ours: “Has Donald Trump explicitly lied about the election being rigged?”
“Yes,” Truth Social’s AI answered. “Trump repeatedly claimed the 2020 election was ‘rigged’ despite being told by his campaign, White House staff, and DOJ that his fraud allegations were false, and after courts rejected them.”
It also responded to questions about groceries and affordability. The Bulkwark asked if the price of groceries has decreased during Trump’s second term, as Trump has repeatedly claimed.

Truth Social’s AI tool responded, “No. Grocery prices have not broadly decreased since Donald Trump returned to office; they are still rising year over year.”
The Bulwark followed up with a question on tariffs, asking the bot if it “cost the American people money.” “Yes,” the AI answered. “Tariffs are taxes on imports that U.S. importers pay and largely pass on through higher prices, so the costs are borne mainly by American businesses and consumers.”
The answer contradicts Trump’s statements, such as the claim that the tariffs “cost Americans nothing” and that other countries, like China, “probably will eat” the price hikes.
In another exchange, BP Daily asked the tool, “Was the Jan. 6 attack primarily carried out by Antifa members?”
The AI tool also fact-checked an early claim that the Jan. Capitol riot was carried out by Antifa

Truth Social AI responded, “No. Investigations and prosecutions show the Jan. 6 attack was driven chiefly by pro-Trump rioters, including members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers—not by Antifa.”
Within the first 24 hours of the attack on the Capitol, there were more than 400,000 mentions of an alleged claim that the rioters were carried out by the left-wing group Antifa. However, there was no evidence for it, and the claim was also disputed by the FBI.
The bot also answered questions on Trump’s foreign policy. “Did Donald Trump stop the conflict between India and Pakistan as he has claimed?” BP Daily asked the AI.
“No. There is no independent evidence that Donald Trump single‑handedly ‘stopped’ an India‑Pakistan war; India publicly rejected U.S. mediation claims while Pakistan praised Trump’s role, producing a disputed narrative,” the software responded.

Trump had claimed credit for India-Pakistan ceasefire mediation at least 20 times between May 10 and July 28.
Truth Social’s parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group, is majority-owned by Trump.
The irony of his own platform hosting a tool that disputes his narratives comes as a development just months after Trump signed an executive order titled ‘Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government.’
Perplexity, the AI company behind the tool, is a three-year-old startup backed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and chipmaker Nvidia.
According to Axios, early tests comparing Perplexity’s public version to Truth Social’s version showed similar factual responses, though they sometimes cited different sources.
