White House Trolls Dems With ‘MySafeSpace’ Page—Mocks ‘Chucky’ And ‘Tampon Tim’ In Shutdown Spat
The White House has added a new page to its official website that mimics the design of MySpace.
The page, titled ‘MySafeSpace,’ went live over the weekend and mocks Democratic leaders as the government shutdown entered its second month.
The page features a retro layout with profile sections and song playlists, modeled after the early 2000s platform.
- The White House launched 'MySafeSpace,' a mock MySpace-style page mocking Democrats during the longest U.S. government shutdown.
- The page parodies Hakeem Jeffries with edited images and sarcastic 'About Me' sections criticizing Democratic priorities.
- MySafeSpace includes a 'Top 8 Friends' list featuring Biden, activist groups, and controversial figures tied to right-wing narratives.

The site embodies a mock profile of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. It features a Getty image photograph of Jeffries alongside Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer at the White House.
Jeffries’ image has been edited with a mustache and sombrero.
The About Me section accuses Democrats of prioritizing diversity initiatives and benefits for undocumented immigrants over paying military personnel.
“Hey, we’re Democrats in the House and Senate. We love DEl, transgender for everyone, and handing out taxpayer benefits to illegal immigrants,” the section reads.
“We couldn’t care less if our men and women in uniform get paid or if our neighborhoods are safe – we just love playing politics with people’s livelihoods!!”

In entries on the page, the White House refers to Jeffries as “Temu Obama,” “Sombrero Guy,” “Dollar Store Obama,” and “Chuck E. Cheese Obama.”
The video link on the page redirects to the White House’s X account, featuring an edited video of Jeffries and Schumer wearing sombreros. The video dates back to last week’s Trump Halloween celebration.
This is not the first time the White House has shared such an edit. President Donald Trump and other Republican officials have been sharing videos of Democrats wearing sombreros and mustaches on social media platforms.
The references to Latino culture follow Republican claims that Democrats have shut down the government to provide health-care funding for undocumented immigrants. Democrats deny these allegations.
Another section lists Jeffries’ “Top 8 Friends,” featuring former President Joe Biden, represented by an autopen.

It also includes:
- Antifa, a far-left activist group
- George Soros, a Hungarian-American billionaire long depicted by right-wing media as a financier behind liberal protests
- Tampon Tim, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, references his policy to provide period products to all menstruating students.
- Fenty Girl, Virginia Basora-Gonzalez, whose ICE arrest photo went viral in March.
- Chucky, a nickname for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, not to be confused with the “Real Chucky.”
- Real Chucky, a fictional serial killer.
- Maryland Dad, Salvadorian immigrant Kilmar Abrego García, was wrongfully deported by the Trump administration and imprisoned in El Salvador.
The page says Jeffries’ heroes are “Anyone who identifies as a radical leftist. Transnational gangs, illegal immigrants.”

A White House spokesperson did not issue a formal statement but referred reporters to a post on the official X account that read, “Welcome to mysafespace … Where Democrats go when opening the government feels too hard.”
The parody page also includes links that redirect users to outside articles criticizing Democrats.
One link labeled “voting record” sends visitors to a report from The Hill titled, “Senate Democrats block government funding bill for 13th time.”
Another link titled “Hakeem Shutdown Blog” leads to White House press releases blaming Democrats for the budget stalemate.
The webpage also consists of a section titled “Contact Box,” which redirects to your email with a prewritten email to Schumer saying, “Please reopen the government, Hakeem and Chuck. Sincerely, the American People.”
The page includes MySpace-style sections: About Me, Top 8 Friends, Blurbs, and Music

A timer at the top of the webpage shows “Democrats Have Shut Down The Government For,” followed by a clock with days, hours, minutes, and seconds on how long the shutdown has continued for.
The shutdown, which began on October 1, has halted pay for thousands of federal employees and disrupted services across the country.
It entered its 37th day on November 6, becoming the longest federal shutdown in U.S. history, overtaking the record 35-day shutdown of 2018–19 during Trump’s first presidency.

Republicans have accused Democrats of blocking a temporary funding bill that would reopen the government. Democrats counter that they will not support any plan that fails to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies or reverse recent Medicaid cuts.
Schumer, along with other Senate Democrats, has refused to vote alongside Republicans on a temporary funding bill until the Affordable Care Act subsidies, which are set to expire at the end of this year, are extended.

Without the Affordable Care Act, health-care costs could double or triple for Americans who rely on the subsidies.
Republicans have argued that Democrats are refusing to reopen the government because they want to fund health care for undocumented immigrants.
Federal law already prohibits providing subsidized health care to undocumented immigrants.
Another source of debate between the parties is funding for troops during the shutdown, though the White House recently stated that it had secured funds through an anonymous private donor to pay military personnel.
The New York Timesreported afterward that billionaire businessman Timothy Mellon donated $130 billion to pay U.S. troops.

In contrast, Trump suggested this week that the U.S. would not pay full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits despite a federal court filing ordering him to do so.
He said on Truth Social that SNAP benefits that help feed 42 million Americans “will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government, which they can easily do, and not before!”
While Jeffries has not personally commented on the page, social media users shared their criticism.
“This is real. And it’s a racist waste of tax dollars. During a shutdown harming the lives of MILLIONS, the WH released a .gov page called ‘MySafeSpace’ mocking Congressmen Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. This is what is being done instead of funding the government,” a not-for-profit organization working in racial inequality said on X.
