American Idol Executive, Husband Shot And Killed At L.A. Home As Police Arrest Suspect

A man has been arrested after an American Idol executive and her husband were found murdered in their $5 million Los Angeles home.

The bodies of Robin Kaye, 70, and Thomas Deluca, 70, were discovered by police officers on Sunday, July 14, following a welfare check.

Kaye worked as a music supervisor on the popular reality TV show.

Police have now confirmed that 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian has been arrested on suspicion of double homicide.

Concerns were raised when the couple had not been heard from for several days, and officers attended the home on White Oak Avenue in Encino on Sunday.

Inside, Kaye and Deluca were found dead and had both suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

After conducting interviews with family and friends and reviewing surveillance footage, investigators discovered that a suspected burglary call had been made days prior.

Around 4:00 p.m. on July 10, a call was made regarding a possible burglary suspect at the home.

While there were no signs of forced entry or trouble at the location during that investigation, it is now believed that the suspect had gained entry into the home through an unlocked door.

When Kaye and Deluca returned home, the suspect was inside their home.

After a confrontation, the gunman shot and killed them both before fleeing the scene, police said.

Homicide investigators then identified the suspect as Boodarian, a resident of Encino.

Police are now investigating whether Boodarian is connected to Kaye and Deluca and if he was involved in any past calls for service at the home.

American Idol paid tribute to Kaye, describing her as a cornerstone of the show.

“We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing,” a spokesperson for the series told CBS News.

“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.”

“Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

According to Kaye’s IMDB page, she won the Guild of Music Supervisors’ Music Supervisor of the Year Award three years in a row between 2011 and 2013.

She worked on several other shows, including The Singing Bee, Miss USA, Miss Universe, American Inventor, Q’Viva, The Dance Scene, Dance Your Ass Off, Your Chance To Dance, Adventures of Power, and Crashed.

Deluca was a musician, and his latest album was released in 2022, titled Street Rock.

He wrote songs for famous musicians, including Kid Rock, the band Molly Hatchet, and Meredith Brooks, according to The Daily Mail.

The couple is understood to have bought the home in January 2023.
